So I recently came around to listening to actress Zooey Deschanel's American indie rock band with M. Ward called "She & Him," which by the way is the cutest band name I think. (She in vocals, piano and banjo; Him in guitar and production.)

The band has 50s, 60s, Country, Folk, Pop influences. And the first song I've heard from them was "Change is Hard," when they performed live in Craig Ferguson's late night show. I didn't really like it because I thought she fell flat. (Maybe it was the nerves?)
But I decided to give the band another chance because I really love the chorus in it and I listened to the same song on how it sounds in the album.
To my surprise, I'm already on my second day of listening to "She & Him." It's slowly growing on me, and I rarely go for this genre/music. Yet I'm still "eh" about it, like I like it but it's one of those "I can still live without it" music. Lol, does that even make sense?
Here are 3 of my favorite songs:
Change Is Hard
I Thought I Saw Your Face Today
I Was Made For You
What do you ladies think?
Forzieri
Pepe Jeans
S'Oliver
I've been listening to this very much lately. I like it a lot
Love her voice!
1i like it because they stand out from popular music. and indeed she has a lovely voice.
2It's the first time I listen to it, and she sounds good.
3i've always loved her voice since she shared it with us in the movie Elf. I dig their music, i especially love Why Do You Let Me Stay here?
I definitely like it a lot more than Scarlett's album which i found a complete bore.
4definitely miss-britt, better than scarlet's.
5So far I really like the single "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here." I read on an MTV review the song sounds the way Zoey's eyes look. Sounds weird, but I'd have to agree! I am thinking of checking out the rest of the cd now...thanks for your thoughts!
6no problem jadenirvana...and same here i think i'm going to have to purchase this little ladie's album.
and how cute about the mtv review.
7I love her voice, and the songs are nice... but the 4 or 5 songs I listened to were not my type of music. Maybe it's because I dislike folk and country music. **shrugs**
8I don't hate it however I do not love it. Zooey's voice is 100x's better than Scarlett's(whose album sounded like you were in a loud, spaced-out druggie dream. I am a fan of Wait's however not her versions.) She & Him has the type of music were I would listen to 3/4 of the song, then browse to station to see what else was on. Good enough to listen to however I would tire of it quickly (which is normal for me and certain songs.) Still, I like how her voice is a throwback to vintage tracks.
9^ I meant "browse the stations..."
10i love it =) "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here", and "Sentimental Heart" are the two that I think really highlights her unique voice. The others do as well, but I just can't stop listening to those two songs!
