Our parenting editor Charlene Prince Birkeland wrote a hilarious post today about the crazy little white lies we tell our kids to make life a little easier or more fun. My favorite one of hers: "Milk is really sugar for your bones." That almost makes me want to drink milk!
So, ladies, what are the lies your parents told you when you were growing up? Tell us your most touching, most crazy, most hilarious, and even most infuriating. Go one further, and tell us just when you figured your parents' exaggerations out. Put your incredible parental lies in the comments below!

They actually didn't lie too often (I wasn't a picky eater and pretty much did what I was told) so it was something common, "If you do not finish your homework, Santa will not come this year." At age 6 that freaked me out so I always did my work, lol.
1There's also "if you don't eat this or that, this monster will come and eat you up!"
And I was obliged to eat this or else ... (pretty scared at this age)!

When I was 12yrs old my best friend (at the time) told me how when she was little and wouldn't behave, her dad would tell her that the evil ghost in her closet will come out at night and take her away.
Geez, I was so glad that my parents never said that to me since I have always had a horrible fear of the paranormal. I would have been sh*t scared!lol.
3Yeah Lee!! So true! At night, at that time, I was afraid to got to bed alone and I didn't want mum to turn the lights off!! It was freaking scary... And there's also the monster from under the bed
