So after catching the opening of this year's Mtv VMA I decided that I rather watch paint dry than that crap fest. My God was I the only one who thought it was a snooze, and I started getting "secondhand embarrassment" for Russell Brand, the British comedian who hosted the show. *shakes heads*
But instead of watching paint dry I came up with a better idea: making my Best Dressed list.
Here are my top three (in no order) :
Singer Nicole Scherzinger (From the Pussycat Doll)
I really can't believe I'm saying this but one of the Pussycat Doll members didn't look like she got dressed in the dark. When I saw Nicole Scherzinger go up to accept an award with her fellow members, she caught my eye...in a good way (for once, lol). I feel in love with her dress soft shade of pink. The color complimented her glowing tan skin and long black hair. The neckline was just right; it wasn't too low and it wasn't too high. And the decision not to wear a necklace just accentuated the neckline.
(A better view of the dress):

I'm drooling over the draping of the fabrics. Nicole was understated yet sensual in her long pink dress. How often can I or you say that for a Pussycat Doll? Too bad we'll probably see her in latex and leather the next morning. sigh.
Actor Chase Crawford
You gotta love a man who looks good in a suit, and Mr. Chase Crawford was wearing a fine, blue, striped suit that brought out his eyes. Dang! Look at the tailoring of the blazer. I liked that he was wearing a black tie to contrast the blue suit. I just enjoy seeing a male celeb on the red carpet who looks different from the rest of the guys yet owning it. Chase looked great and casual by leaving the blazers unbuttoned so not to look to fancy or corporate like on the red carpet.
Model Bar Refaeli
The Sport Illustrated supermodel Bar Refaeli kept it all covered up on the red carpet, and it was a good thing because Leo's girl was looking amazing. I love all the contrasting elements she had going on: 3/4 black leather jacket, Gothic-like jewelry, and long gray jersey dress. Yet everything seems to fit perfectly well with each other. Her cat-eyes and tousled bond hair gives her covered-up looks the sex appeal.
.....Well those are my top picks. What do you think? Do you agree and disagree?
Forzieri
Pepe Jeans
S'Oliver
Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls looks great.
1I completely agree pink, I thought Nicole and Bar were among the best dressed!
2i never got to finish watching it, cuz i got bored and left...but i agree with you about nicole. it's not like everyday you'll see them covered up.
maybe you shouold have done worst dressed too, i can already pick one : xtina, talk about goth mermaid
3I'm actually surprised I watched the entire show. I liked some of Russell's humor (especially the political jokes) however I also felt embarrassed for him, no one there looked amused at all! I mainly watched for some of the performances. Also, Jordin Sparks need to lighten up and not be so defensive. Okay, done with that little rant now onto the fashion,lol...
I adored Bar and Chace's looks ; they looked so chic yet not over-the-top. I liked Nicole's dress and earrings, not crazy about her bangles. I just feel the bangles emphasise her gold sandals which sort-of causes it to clash with the silver earrings. However the design and the shade of pink is very beautiful.
Other looks I liked were Ne-Yo and while I disliked Christina Aguilera's look, I would love her dress if it was on someone taller (like Gisele or Keira.)
4^ Forgot to mention that the fashion choices were extremely disappointing; not many swoon-worthy looks. Also the show itself lacked quite abit.
5i agree leeluv, there really was not a bunch of "best dressed." thank god for these three.
6I know, it was so disappointing. A moment like this calls for a smiley that lowers & shakes it's head in shame, lol.
7i was going through the photos for the red carpet arrival and i just had this "WTH, is that?!?" look on my face. and this is our today's fashion. :SHAME: LOL
8
The fashion was so, (I don't known whether to say awful, mis-matched or trashy...) I think
all three words can be used, lol. I was/am completely confused by Solange Knowles; she always looks as if she was dresses in the dark! I mean, it is not that hard is it to mix & match and
look unique without looking like you were dressed by a 2month old.
9I didn't watch and even if I did I don't think I would have lasted more than 5 minutes with Brand - you're a braver soul than I leeluv!
I took the time to look over all the fashions this morning and the selection was p i t i f u l ! ! ! I think they all pretty much look dreadful, the only one that I really liked was Bar. She was stunning and how would it be, to fit it and fill out a dress like that? She was probably the only one that was comfortable that's forsure. I would go on and on about who I didn't like but there's no point I can say pretty much everyone was dreadful, except for the ones you have listed Pink, your choices were spot on!
10BRITNEY
11LOL, miss britt! i thought she looed great but i wasn't crazy about it, but she looked so hot in that opening skit though.
OMG SOLANGE KNOWLES! Leeluv, don't even get me started. that girl tries way toooo hard to be a "diva" with her big hair and bright dresses. she just fails at the end.
and LE E you did the right thing not watching it. i lasted after Russell's monolouge and then had to change when Jaimie Foxx presented the first award. gawd that was an awful show.
12bar rocked!
