So I was just going around the Sugar network, reading one post to another, when I came across an E. Jean's post.
I get that they've added her to the family to spice up Dearsugar with her oh-so-witty remarks, but when 90% of the readers have expressed their dislike for her is most of her posts, you would think someone would sit her down.
But then again, I don't know why I'm saying that because I've read tons of comments from Sugar readers to ban this celeb, to stop posting about him/her on Popsugar and nothing has changed.
So I just want to know what does everyone, who has had the chance to read her posts, think about her?
If you're not familiar with her advice column, may I suggest this wonderful gem that is an example of her fine journalism work: http://dearsugar.com/1829908.
(Sarcasm is all over my post for those who can't detect it,
)
Ray-Ban
yea i thought she was a big bi*ch this time.
1i have a strong hunch that she woke up on the wrong side of the bed today
yeah and i'm glad other Sugar members have pointed out why she had to pick that particular letter. so to "improve her mind?" yeah last time i checked improving someone's mind doesn't include making fun of her and then even thinking of posting the original letter. for what? to get others to pick out her lack of grammar skills as she did.
i think E. Jeans forget that members in this community are better than that and her as well.
2Oh, see now I have an opinion about these kind of advice columns, namely that they're completely made up. I've seen this style of "advice" given in other magazines and newspapers and it generally strikes me that no one would actually send those letters in. I think the advisor is a fictional character (even if she has a photo!) and the letters are written to allow him/her to generate a "witty" reply.
Personally I don't find it funny at all.
3kiki tee E. JEan is very real, and while I don't always agree with her I feel like the people who write to her know what they are getting into. Sometimes she's old fashioned sometimes her advice is clearly wacky but you get what you pay for and obviously some of these people feel like she's the right person to help them out. I did thin kshe was overly harsh towards the OP in this weeks column while sometimes I think she excuses people's bad behavior altogether. But since we have the right to speak freely adn someone is aksing for her opinion she has the right to give it and if the person asking the question doesn't like the advice they have the right to ignore her and go ask Abby
4She's always given bad advice, and tries to be funny and witty about it, but just comes off as completely pompous. She's absolutely the opposite of helpful. I really wish they would get rid of her on Dear- as you can tell from the comments on that post most people don't like her, nor do they ever agree with her.
5that's true!
6E. Jean annoys the he!! out of me, I don't even bother reading her "advice" (more like b*tch) column anymore. She is never helpful, just rude.
7thanks for your opinions ladies. i guess i just didn't like how she couldn't just let the OP know in private how she should brush up on her grammar not use it as one her material for an advice column.
idk, i've read her others posts and i get soo put off b/c some of the topics discussed were great and then you get "wacky" and "sarcastic" advice.
8This is exactly why I don't even read Dear Sugar. She's seems very off putting, I suppose some people would find her personality funny and witty, I don't.
9She annoys me. Who the hell uses words like "nincompoopery" and "knuckleheads" and "my darlings" its SO degrading, patronizing and fake. I have a hunch that she cant tell the difference between a real letter and a fake letter. (http://dearsugar.com/1702887#comments)
Also, her advice is so dated now. She may have been risque and cutting edge back in her prime but now she's just a menopausal old woman who is easily tricked.
DearSugar is better at giving advice then E.Jean is. Time to retire E.Jean.

10I never read Dear Sugar, and I had no idea about this awful E.Jean
11I really don't like her at all ... nor am I very fond of Dear Sugar.
12I had gotten bored with Dear Sugar and do not go there to often anymore. I hadn't even heard of this E. Jean until just now and frankly I wish I hadn't. Sounds like a female dog barking to me. Woof Woof.
