So who were the Best Dressed at the 2008 Mtv Video Music Awards?

So after catching the opening of this year's Mtv VMA I decided that I rather watch paint dry than that crap fest. My God was I the only one who thought it was a snooze, and I started getting "secondhand embarrassment" for Russell Brand, the British comedian who hosted the show. *shakes heads*

But instead of watching paint dry I came up with a better idea: making my Best Dressed list.

Here are my top three (in no order) :
Singer Nicole Scherzinger (From the Pussycat Doll)
I really can't believe I'm saying this but one of the Pussycat Doll members didn't look like she got dressed in the dark. When I saw Nicole Scherzinger go up to accept an award with her fellow members, she caught my eye...in a good way (for once, lol). I feel in love with her dress soft shade of pink. The color complimented her glowing tan skin and long black hair. The neckline was just right; it wasn't too low and it wasn't too high. And the decision not to wear a necklace just accentuated the neckline.

I'm drooling over the draping of the fabrics. Nicole was understated yet sensual in her long pink dress. How often can I or you say that for a Pussycat Doll? Too bad we'll probably see her in latex and leather the next morning. sigh.

Actor Chase Crawford
You gotta love a man who looks good in a suit, and Mr. Chase Crawford was wearing a fine, blue, striped suit that brought out his eyes. Dang! Look at the tailoring of the blazer. I liked that he was wearing a black tie to contrast the blue suit. I just enjoy seeing a male celeb on the red carpet who looks different from the rest of the guys yet owning it. Chase looked great and casual by leaving the blazers unbuttoned so not to look to fancy or corporate like on the red carpet.

Model Bar Refaeli
The Sport Illustrated supermodel Bar Refaeli kept it all covered up on the red carpet, and it was a good thing because Leo's girl was looking amazing. I love all the contrasting elements she had going on: 3/4 black leather jacket, Gothic-like jewelry, and long gray jersey dress. Yet everything seems to fit perfectly well with each other. Her cat-eyes and tousled bond hair gives her covered-up looks the sex appeal.

Introducing Adele...

The UK singer/songwriter/musician has become my latest fixation. I am completely in love with her voice and music. I recently bought her album titled 19 and I can't stop listening to it when I'm at home and when I'm driving. And yeah I haven't gotten sick of it!

From wikipedia, Adele is an English jazz singer and has described her musical style as "heartbroken soul". She is the first recipient of the Brit Awards Critics' Choice, which was given to artists who, at the time, had yet to release an album. She debuted at number one with her Mercury Prize nominated debut album 19 in the UK album chart and has since then been certified platinum with sales over 500,000 copies.

She is being called as "the next Amy Winehouse," but I think Adele blows her out of the water and she really is just her own singer in my own opinion.

Something happened today that angered me.

So this morning I had set about 10 bags filled with toys, clothes, books, household items and many more along with a box filled with clothes, two old luggage and an old radio on the curb of my front yard to be picked up for donations. All the items were to be donated for an Easter Sale the whole county will have to raise funds for children and adults with disabilities.

I made sure to wake early in the morning to do this just in case the truck decided to just show up at 7 am to pick up my donations. I waited until 12:30 pm; no one has yet to stop by, which then I decided that I had to get going to run errands. (Today was a busy day for me).

So I left the items unattended, figuring that no one was going to take them.

When I got home my brother saw the truck stop by and grab the bags and such. My brother even overheard one of the people picking up the donations that they were thankful for our donations because we donated a lot. Of course I was happy and overjoyed hearing this lovely news.

BUT as it turned out many of my donations were stolen by a couple. My cousin told me that she saw a man and a woman stop by and load up items inside their car's trunk and backseat. THE WOMAN apparently even had the audacity to go through the bags and see if some of the clothing fit her. This happened a good thirty minutes before the people in charge of the Easter Sale stopped by, according to my cousin. So in other words they stole the items that were going towards a good cause.

Ugh! Okay I was just not donating random items that need to be dumped away somewhere. The items had quality and were still valuable. AND the charity could have made tons of money from them.

It just made me mad hearing about that. THERE was a yellow sign that said that it will be donated to a charity and the couple didn't care about that. Oh AND they knew about the sign because my cousin said that they only stole one luggage out of the two I had placed outside, and I had taped the sign to one of the luggage. They probably stole the luggage without the sign.

Ugh, ugh, ugh!!! I wish the man and woman bad karma. I'm serious. I've never wanted to wish someone that without regretting it until today.

It just gets me angry because I was soooo happy about what my brother told me and then I heard what happened minutes before the truck stopped by our front yard. It just disgusts me ya' know.

But all in all, I can't stop being hard on myself too for it because about an hour later I came home from doing erreands the bags and such were gone, and that's when my brother told me the story of the Easter Sales people were thankful for our donations. And when I have to fill out the tax deduction for charitable acts later on I won't get myself to do it because I feel like the charitable act done by me is tainted already and undeserved to be documented.

If I just stuck around the house longer and if I just did my errands later on the day (which I had the time for as I just realized that today) I would've seen those two despicable people and told them to steal themselves some dignity.

This is going to bother me in my sleep.

I hate people sometimes.

So I recently came around to listening to actress Zooey Deschanel's American indie rock band with M. Ward called "She & Him," which by the way is the cutest band name I think. (She in vocals, piano and banjo; Him in guitar and production.)

The band has 50s, 60s, Country, Folk, Pop influences. And the first song I've heard from them was "Change is Hard," when they performed live in Craig Ferguson's late night show. I didn't really like it because I thought she fell flat. (Maybe it was the nerves?)

But I decided to give the band another chance because I really love the chorus in it and I listened to the same song on how it sounds in the album.

To my surprise, I'm already on my second day of listening to "She & Him." It's slowly growing on me, and I rarely go for this genre/music. Yet I'm still "eh" about it, like I like it but it's one of those "I can still live without it" music. Lol, does that even make sense?

Also Sunday was not my "fun day." I had to work an eight hour shift in retail, ending with a three hour clean-up of the stock room. My feet were ready to fall off.
